Pinhole Camera and Blogger Process

Pinhole Camera Blog

PROCESS

To start off our pinhole camera project we first had to make our pinhole cameras, I brought in a shoe box and then went through step by step the making of the pinhole camera with carol. First I cut a square hole in the lid of my shoe box about 2.5 square. I then painted the inside of the lid and box with black mat paint. We did this as black mat paint doesn’t reflect any light and therefore the photographic paper will only react to the light coming through the pinhole.

After I had waited for the paint to dry I cut out a piece of tinfoil and stick over the square that I had cut out I taped it down careful to make sure not light can get in around the gaps and then made a small pinhole in the centre of the foil aprox 0.8mm. This made my lens just like for a normal camera. The reason for the small pinhole is to allow only a percentage of light to react with the photographic paper to create the image because if a large amount of light was to react with the photographic paper quickly it would just produce a black image. This is kind of like the iris

I then measured the distance from my pinhole to the piece of photographic paper which was 180mm using some maths and some help from Tim we turned this into my  f stop the f-stop was the amount of time I should expose my pinhole camera to the sun  which turned out to be 14 minutes inside and 3 minutes outside

I then put 4 bits of double sided sticky tape onto the back of my piece of photographic paper in the dark room and then placed it in the centre of my box making sure that it was inline with my pinhole in the lid. I then sealed up my box using duct tape to make sure no light could come in through gaps in the lid or in the box

I then using a piece of card created a shutter for my lens. This was to make sure that no light could react with the photographic paper and create an image.

I then went outside and started to take images with my pinhole camera I spent 4 mins out side and then came back into the darkroom I took the piece of photographic paper out of the my pinhole camera and then  put them first into the developer this helped my image to process and it became visible. I then put it into fixer which made sure that my image stayed as it was and dint continue to develop. I then put it into the stopper to seal the image fully

I then put it through the dryer to dry off all the chemicals and make sure they can’t react with my skin or the photographic paper anymore

BLOGGER

We then stated to make our blogs on blogger.com, first we had to set up a Google mail account, to do this we went to the Google search engine and then clicked on mail and click setup new account, after setting up my account I then went on to blooger.com and registered my Google mail account to blogger. I then set up a blog and chose title names and edited my profile information.
